The main purpose of the Norwegian eProcurement Platform (Ehandelsplattformen) is to promote electronic commerce in the public sector between public entities and their suppliers. The platform provides a standardised interface for both buyer and supplier. This solution cuts costs because you don’t need to maintain multiple interfaces.
The eProcurement Platform connects the buyers' purchasing and trading systems to the suppliers. The platform also includes its own functionality as Open Marketplace, search engine and eOrder (simple webshop).
The eProcurement Platform also registers all transactions and measures the revenue and number of orders, in order to report the extent of electronic commerce to the authorities.
The site shows the parties involved in the eProcurement Platform.
